FIS Welcomes Jeimee Estrada and Nadia Diaz Funn to the Board of Directors
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Families In Schools (FIS) is pleased to announce its two newest members to the Board of Directors, Jeimee Estrada and Nadia Diaz Funn. Each brings a deep commitment to elevating the role families play in the education of their children and has an impressive track record in addressing inequities in the education system that has plagued too many of our students.
“I am honored to welcome Nadia and Jeimee to the board of Families In Schools,” said Dr. Tommy Chang, chair of the board. “These distinguished leaders bring deep experience in public education and expertise around family engagement that will bolster the organization’s three strategic pillars of work: building engagement capacity, activating coalitions, and elevating family voice. We are excited to work together with CEO Yolie Flores and the FIS team to transform the education of underserved communities in Los Angeles and beyond.”
President and CEO, Yolie Flores, added: “I am grateful and honored that these two outstanding leaders have chosen to dedicate their time and leadership to the mission of Families In Schools.
