Registration ends June 30th, 2018
Did you know that students can lose up to one month of learning during the summer? This is called the “summer slide” and it can take teachers three to four weeks to re-teach the previous years’ skills at the beginning of the new school year. To help students continue learning during the summer, Families In Schools (FIS) launched Passport to Success, a an innovative family engagement campaign that reduces summer learning loss by encouraging students and their families to participate in summer learning activities. Passport to Success will take place June 9, 2018 – August 20, 2018
Families receive the following items when they register:
1) A Passport (stamp book)
2) A Passport to Success Resource Guide (map)
3) A weekly Passport to Success newsletter June 9, 2018 – August 20, 2018 with the following information:
*Promotional information on museums, community events, and activities
*Summer learning tips
*Weekly Scavenger Hunt Photo Challenges where we encourage families to take a photo at a designated location and post it on Instagram or Facebook. The photo with the most likes is eligible for a prize.
*Opportunities to win prizes throughout the summer
What families can win! Turn in your “Passport” by the end of the campaign and you will win prizes.
