Million Word Challenge For Schools

Submit Your Reading Log! May 4 - May 11

 

Step #1  Officially register your school or agency for the 2018 Million Word Challenge. Registration for schools ended on February 13, 2018.

Step #2 The Million Word Challenge Webinar will be conducted on January 24th and 26th. This webinar will clarify any implementation questions that you may have prior to launching the campaign. The video is now available to watch.

Step #3  Register families for the Million Word Challenge newsletter. Schools that register 25 families for weekly reading tips will receive a set of 12 preselected books for their school libraries. Families that receive the newsletter and participate in the reading challenges will be eligible to win prizes on a weekly basis. Family Registration for the Million Word Challenge ended on March 26, 2018.

Step #4 Kick-off the Million Word Challenge and encourage your students to read outside the classroom from February 13 – May 4, 2018.

Step #5 Continue sharing the challenge. Create a social media plan, community calendar, newsletter, etc. Celebrate classrooms, students and the families showing great progress.

Step #6 Turn in your school wide reading logs monthly – March 9th, April 6th, May 4th. Schools that turn in their reading logs monthly will receive a set of 12 preselected books for their school libraries.

Step #7: Select and submit your student winner for your school by May 11th, 2018.
