Thank you for your interest in bringing parent engagement programs, and activities to thousands of students and their families across California. Inventory & Packing Volunteer

February 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and/or the 16th.

Volunteers will help us stay on track and take notes during our planning meetings by transcribing notes, filtering, and summarize what happened at the planning meeting.

Community Relations Support – Outreach

Feb. 4th, 2:30-5:30pm | Feb. 5th, 8:30-10:30am | Feb. 6th, 11:30am-1pm | Feb. 7th, 5:30-7pm

We are looking for English and Spanish speaking volunteers that are comfortable contacting parents to confirm details regarding their attendance to a summit on February 9th where they will recieve information regarding education efforts in LAUSD as well as network with 1,000 parents.

Community Relations Support – Conference

February 9th

On February 9, Families In Schools will be supporting hundreds of LAUSD parents “get on the bus” to a conference in Downtown Los Angeles, where they will meet with hundreds of more parents to network, learn from one another and raise their voices for their children’s education. We need 3-5 volunteers to help create a welcoming environment for parents as they “get on the bus” and answer their questions. Must be available on February 5th to prep as well as commit on February 9th from 7:30am-2:00pm.

Marketing Segmentation Volunteer(s)

Flexible Schedule

As of today, Families In Schools has a list of over 22,000 contacts in our database. We are looking for a volunteer that can help us on a long-term project to research best practices to segment lists, as well as support with tagging and categorizing individuals in our contact list. This will help us send targeted communications and help get our message to the right audiences. (Project Based/ Long Term)

Marketing Analytics and Reporting Volunteer

Families In Schools is looking for an individual to help us input hard copies of surveys conducted at the end of our sessions/events with parents, teachers, and other community members. This individual will then analyze and report their findings. Portions of this information will then be used to improve the sessions and will also be included in marketing materials such as our annual report, and social enterprise catalog.

Communication Analytics and Reporting Volunteer

Every year, Families In Schools holds anywhere between 8-10 campaigns. We need a volunteer that can pull social media, press, and other analytics pieces to help report on the communications pieces. We need to know, what worked, what didn’t work and how we can improve our campaigns.

YouTube Channel Optimization Volunteer(s)

Flexible Schedule

We have a robust YouTube Channel that needs some serious optimization. The YouTube Channel Optimization volunteer(s) will help us research the best ways to optimize the channel including: link anywhere cards, end screens, and call to action overlays. Then they will test their findings by optimizing the channel and finally, create a handbook to support us as we continue to upload videos onto our channel. We suggest two volunteers for to work together on this project.

Blogger/Writer Volunteer(s)

Every year, Families In Schools hosts a series of workshops and trainings for teachers and/or parents. We are looking for a blogger/or writer to write 1-2 blog posts per month to help us promote the work around parent engagement and the workshops and trainings that we conduct.

Graphic Design Volunteer – Catalog

Flexible Schedule

Families In Schools has many workshops, curriculums, and trainings that they offer to schools. All the content is ready to go, and we need someone to help us stay on brand but stand out from the crowd.

Program & Marketing Material Review Volunteer

Flexible Schedule

Every year, Families In Schools revises over a dozen programs and marketing materials to support school and agency staff and the families they serve. We are looking for detailed oriented volunteers to help us keep track of notes and update our program and marketing materials. Through this volunteer position you will use Adobe Software and/or Microsoft Software.

Videographer Volunteer

Flexible Schedule

Families In Schools provides a variety of services to schools, families, and students. We are looking for a videographer that can record and/or edit a series of testimonials of college graduates and/or parents of college graduates to give advice to 12th grade students and/or their parents as they transition to college.

Event Planning Volunteer – Secretary

Flexible Schedule

Volunteers will help us stay on track and take notes during our planning meetings by transcribing notes, filtering, and summarize what happened at the planning meeting.

Data Entry Volunteer

Flexible Schedule

Every year, Families In Schools conducts hundreds of workshops for families, students, and school/agency staff. We anonymously survey all participants so that we can report and improve our programs. We are looking for volunteers interested in supporting our data entry and reporting efforts.
