Due to COVID-19, many families are distance learning and do not have access to their local libraries or physical books. This week we would like you to explore different sites that offer free books. Below are some step-by-step instructions to submit your third challenge.
Step #1: Research where to find free books. The books can be physical books, e-books, audiobooks, video books, etc.
Step #2: Let your child pick the book they want to read, no matter the grade level or the number of pages.
Step #3: Try different formats. For example, listen to a portion of an audiobook or video and read the e-book or physical copy. What are the differences?
Step #4: Take a photo of your family trying different ways to read and summarize your family’s experience trying different book formats.
Step #5: Send a photo and your review to the Week #3 Reading Challenge post located in the Reading & Compassion Challenge Facebook Group by Monday, April 27th, at 5 PM.
Step #6: To complete your submission, send us your reading log via Facebook Direct Message. This is very important; we do not want you to submit your personal information publicly. If you can’t send it through Facebook Direct Message, please send it to Jessica Torres at email@example.com by Monday, April 27th, at 5 PM.
All completed entries for the weekly challenges will be reviewed. We will hold a raffle for a $10 gift card on Thursday, April 30th via Facebook Live at 5 PM. The next literacy challenge will be on Monday, April 27th.
