Dear Supporters,
Every year, distinguished advocacy and education leaders illuminate the Alliance summit panels and stage. We are thrilled to announce two exemplary figures delivering keynote messages at Alliance 2015.
Monica García, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board Member, was elected to the Board of Education in June 2006, becoming the third Latina to serve on the Board in its 155 year history. With her bold call to action for “Diplomas for All,” Board Member García galvanized the LAUSD school community to take aggressive action to reach 100% graduation. Most recently, Ms. García co-sponsored and championed for Equity on A-G, a resolution the LAUSD Board voted unanimously in support of to prepare all students for college and careers. Read more about Ms. García here.
S. Kwesi Rollins, Director of Leadership Programs at Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL), has numerous years of experience working with local communities and state agencies to improve multi-agency service-delivery systems supporting children, youth, and families. Mr. Rollins guides IEL’s portfolio of programs designed to develop and support leaders with a particular emphasis on family and community engagement, early childhood education and community-based leadership development.
