Engaging families in the education of their children is Kathleen Mooney’s passion.  She has dedicated over sixteen (16) years of her life to this work.  Her experience as a multi-level volunteer parent leader and as a consultant for Los Angeles area public schools in the area of parent engagement has allowed her to develop a unique expertise that is in demand as schools struggle to develop cultures where all students learn at high levels.  Ms. Mooney graduated, as a philosophy major, from the State University of New York at Oswego and earned a Masters of Education from the California State University at Los Angeles, focusing on parent engagement and adult learning theory.  Additionally, she is a graduate of the UCLA Parent Curriculum project, a parent leadership development program, and is a trained facilitator for Leadership in Inter-Ethnic Relations (LDIR), a program supporting improved race relations in Los Angeles.  Kathleen is also a wife and mother of three children, who presently attend school in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
