The Million Word Challenge is a literacy initiative challenging Los Angeles County students, Pre-K through 12th Grade, to read MILLIONS OF WORDS outside of school time. In May 2010, as the contest draws to a close, each Million Word Challenge school will select one student winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to purchase books at Feria Del Libro: A Family Book Fair, which will be held on June 5, 2010 on the grounds of Los Angeles City Hall. To register your school for the Million Word Challenge, please visit www.millionwordchallenge.org. Registration will be open from November 1, 2009 - December 15, 2009. There are limited spaces available, so sign-up today. This year, your school can participate in the Million Word Challenge Kick-Off on November 19, 2009 through a live webcast.
