Jo Carcedo is currently the Executive Director of Families in Schools, responsible for providing oversight to all business and fundraising functions, technical assistance and program support to schools and community-based organizations in their efforts to build effective partnerships, engage parents in early childhood programs and family literacy, and strengthen the student/parent transitions throughout the continuum of pre-school to high school education.
Previously she worked for World Vision and provided leadership, strategic direction, and oversaw all advancement operations in southern California for this global humanitarian development and relief organization. She has nearly 25 years experience working in the field of health and human services implementing programs, developing service delivery systems, and fundraising. Prior to starting her own business, The Grant Writing Team Inc., in 2000, she served as Senior Vice President of Program Services for Neighborhood Centers, one of the largest social service agencies in the nation and a United Way-funded organization. She has extensive experience in program development and implementation, organizational development, resource allocation, collaborative development, process design, strategic thinking, fundraising and training. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Masters of Public Affairs the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Rotary Club of Los Angeles. |
